Dr. Hirsch is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He did his postgraduate training in surgery at Boston City Hospital. He is certified in general and vascular surgery. He was in private practice for many years but is now a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and on the full-time faculty. For the last 15 years Dr. Hirsch has specialized in the management of venous disease. He is the director of the Vein Clinic for the university. He is a member of the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, American College of Surgeons, Eastern Vascular Society, Allegheny Vascular Society (past president), the American College of Phlebology and the Society for Vascular Surgery.
