NPI’s Long Beach conference is already upon us, and this post contains a list of suggestions for things to do, places to see, and places to eat while attending so that you can take advantage of everything Long Beach has to offer!

Long Beach is the 36th-largest city in the nation and the seventh-largest in California. Situated in southern Los Angeles County, the city is a dominant maritime center of the United States, and it plays a crucial part in the global economy. Long Beach is also home to the second busiest container port and one of the world's largest shipping ports, the Port of Long Beach.

Points of interest:

RMS Queen Mary –Rather stay aboard than ashore? Look no further than this 1936 ocean liner. The RMS Queen Mary is permanently docked at Long Beach, and is known for its distinctive art-deco design and for its use during World War II as a troop transport. It was purchased by the city of Long Beach in 1967 for conversion to a hotel and maritime museum. Tours are given daily. Welcome aboard!

Aquarium of the Pacific – The Aquarium of the Pacific is located on a 5-acre site on Rainbow Harbor in Long Beach, California—across the water from the Queen Mary. The Aquarium features over 12,500 animals representing over 550 different species. Some exhibits at the Aquarium allow the guests to engage in a variety of activities ranging from interacting with sharks and stingrays to feeding Lorikeets. Be sure to check out the Aquarium of the Pacific if you feel like heading under the sea for a change!
