NPI welcomes you to Santa Fe, New Mexico!

March is here and so is NPI’s Sante Fe, New Mexico conference! This post contains a list of suggestions for things to do, places to see, and places to eat while attending so that you can take full advantage of everything that Santa Fe has to offer!

Santa Fe is full of history, culture, and adventure. Enjoy the historic downtown scene, the Plaza, and more art and culture than you could shake a stick at! Don’t even get us started on the food. Santa Fe is known for its extensive culinary experience that twists native cuisine with contemporary classics.

However, maybe you’re just looking to unwind and relax? Well, you’re in luck! Hotel Santa Fe has an extensive spa with a variety of treatments that are sure to relax both mind and body.

Points of interest:

The Plaza –a National Historic Landmark in downtown Santa Fe. The plaza, or "city-square", was originally the center gathering place in town, or as many locals know it "the heart of Santa Fe." The landmark has grown into a common attraction amongst many tourists interested in Spanish, Native American, and Mexican cultures, including music, design, jewelry, art and dance.

Canyon Road- home to art galleries and studios, unique specialty shops, world-class restaurants, and the historic adobe architecture that gives Santa Fe its legendary southwestern charm. Canyon Road is an art-seekers paradise.

Things to do:

NPI welcomes you to Long Beach, California!

NPI’s Long Beach conference is already upon us, and this post contains a list of suggestions for things to do, places to see, and places to eat while attending so that you can take advantage of everything Long Beach has to offer!

Long Beach is the 36th-largest city in the nation and the seventh-largest in California. Situated in southern Los Angeles County, the city is a dominant maritime center of the United States, and it plays a crucial part in the global economy. Long Beach is also home to the second busiest container port and one of the world's largest shipping ports, the Port of Long Beach.

 

Points of interest:

RMS Queen Mary –Rather stay aboard than ashore? Look no further than this 1936 ocean liner. The RMS Queen Mary is permanently docked at Long Beach, and is known for its distinctive art-deco design and for its use during World War II as a troop transport. It was purchased by the city of Long Beach in 1967 for conversion to a hotel and maritime museum. Tours are given daily. Welcome aboard!

Aquarium of the Pacific – The Aquarium of the Pacific is located on a 5-acre site on Rainbow Harbor in Long Beach, California—across the water from the Queen Mary. The Aquarium features over 12,500 animals representing over 550 different species. Some exhibits at the Aquarium allow the guests to engage in a variety of activities ranging from interacting with sharks and stingrays to feeding Lorikeets. Be sure to check out the Aquarium of the Pacific if you feel like heading under the sea for a change!

Belmont Shore: 2nd Street- Looking for shopping, food, and fun? At Belmont Shore you will find all of this and much, much more!

Things to do:

Gondola Rides – Did you know that Long Beach, California is only one of seven locations in the Western United States that you can ride an authentic gondola? If you’re looking for some time to relax and unwind, this may be just what the doctor ordered.

Pacific Gray Whale Watching – Want to spot a California version of "Free Willy"? Well, lucky for you, January through March is California’s official whale-watch season. Hop aboard a tour boat and see for yourself!

Catalina Island- Want to get away from the “mainland”? Take a cruise to the beautiful, lush Catalina Island. Catalina Island is just 22 miles off the coast of Southern California. Here you can visit the city of Avalon or the town of Two Harbors. Catalina has been described as an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise where one will find a plethora of outdoor activities ranging from golf to hiking to SCUBA diving.

King’s Fish House – In the mood for seafood? Head on over to King’s Fish House! King’s serves up several varieties of seafood fare that are sure to alleviate your ocean-sized appetite.

Rock Bottom Brewery – Looking for something a little more versatile? The Rock Bottom Brewery specializes in American fare, a range of micro brewed beers, and exquisite views of the Pacific Ocean. Sit back, grab a beer, and enjoy the view.

George’s Greek Cafe – Ready to take a trip to the Mediterranean? George’s Greek Café is one of the most coveted Greek establishments in the Long Beach area. If you are looking for an authentic Greek experience complete with plenty of fun and excitement—look no further than George’s!
